024:Women and Weapons NFT Collection Sold Out In An Hour 🤯🤯
And we got our hands on one of them! 👏🏾
The much-anticipated Women and Weapons NFT collection dropped this past Saturday and it featured exactly 9,999 graphics of women with substance and a message. The collection sold out within hours on the DropSpace.Art platform, going for .05ETH to mint one NFT, maxing out at 10 per wallet address. The project's founder Sara Bowman alongside @CryptoMom, @Cyn, and the rest of the WW collaborators teamed up to launch this amazing project that attracted over four thousand individual NFT minters, buyers, and collectors across the metaverse.
The world is not the same today from what it was 20 years ago when the Internet was just beginning to gain steam across the world. Women are taking their positions in the global economy, are powerful voices in the community, becoming directors of businesses, and also marrying men that lean toward being stay-at-home dads or who even choose to become women's home business partners. So nobody can say that there wasn’t a cultural change, but weapons have always been associated with power, achievement, and confidence.
We got our hands on Women and Weapons #58 (pictured above) from the collection. She shall be named “Angela Sharp” because this graphic reminds me of the desert, the hairstyle is giving me "Angela" and the knives 🔪 represent the sharpness in strategy, decision-making, and who she has around to protect.
When watercolor painter Sara Bowman minted her gaucho paintings on Open Sea, the traditional photos with captivating women carrying weapons garnered a lot of attention. Internet Entrepreneur Gary Vee ended up purchasing some of Bowman’s pieces on Open Sea and tweeting about his awesome new NFT find to his millions of followers which gave the Women and Weapons collection even more ammo for this generative art launch.
“Weapons” is the symbiotic meaning that a woman brings to the table--- her creativity, her smarts are what make her unique. She said her husband is her weapon, that he empowers her to be a strong independent woman, so the project is for everyone. During a Twitter Spaces chat, she also expressed gratitude for her home country of Iran and her mother who forever pushes her to reach beyond borders.
The project has already donated over 25ETH or ~ $100,000 USD to the Malala Fund since launching a few days ago! As for the NFT creator, Bowman wants to pursue her dream of being a full-time artist through her NFTs. With the success of this project, she is tracking not only to being her own boss but laying the foundation for how others can find success in this super new Web3 art form.
The project is currently trending at #32 on popular NFT marketplace OpenSea’s Top 100 at a price floor of .01 ETH at a trading volume of 829 ETH.
