019: We Sold Our First Zine Content NFT 🤯💸 💎🚀
First thoughts on NFT collectors and insights on minting NFTS
Wow, someone actually bought an NFT last night!!
I did not expect such a thing to happen for a long time, but perhaps it was the sudden influx of users that Issue 11 on Crypto and Urban Sustainability in VR has received. I was doing my thing when I decided to check one of my inboxes on a relaxing Saturday night. I opened the email and guess what? Congratulations was written in all caps with confetti decor across the header. It was truly shocking how quickly everything happens in the Web3 world. The miners are working overtime.
Once you sell your first smart contract, the funds will be placed in the hot wallet connected to a Rarible or Open Sea account. This information is the most private, and in fact, do not share your addresses with anyone. Once you purchase the NFT, the copy of it sits in your dedicated wallet. You’ll also be able to download unlockable content. In my case, my buyer has access to a secret link to the zine.
I can confirm that this happens, now that I actually went through the entire NFT process. Moreover, the person who bought my NFT can re-list it to the metaverse. 🙋🏾♀️ I am still entitled to a founder’s fee since it’s written in the smart contract/NFT.

Overall, since writing this column, a lot has evolved within the NFT space. Remember, this is still an emerging technology. As of now, acquiring NFTs from Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mood Kitties is basically like an investment vehicle. The trend I’ve been observing among internet investors is people buy, sell, flip/convert to a top-performing currency like $BTC or even a stable coin and get fabulously rich. It could be seen as a fleeting investment strategy, but people are winning right now and I’m not hating. When it comes to my own personal projects, they have always been a success in my eyes because it has helped me to go further, grow, and create cool content. But as an independent publisher for over five years, the price is high when you produce something you care about and sell it for $25 a zine, the supposed “market price.” Essentially, when I sold my first NFT, it 10x-ed the price of anything and I will be implementing this moving forward. My approach will be informed by this newfound success in this amazing new channel and platform.
Anyways, I would like to announce that my plans for the next VSZ NFT release will actually be connected to my e-commerce shop, accumulating tokens, and will be available this holiday season.
